“I love working with Advanced Holistic Health because they provide endless opportunities to improve skills and build the knowledge necessary to advance your career as a massage therapist” –Kara Avila
Kara Avila joined the AHH Team in April 2013 shortly after graduating from Irene’s Myomassology Institute. She has been working closely with owner Nicole Ledbetter for several months in providing high quality and accessible massage therapy services to professional athletes all over the country. Something Kara has continually focused on over the last year is her growth as a therapist, as she works hard to improve her Sports Massage and Deep Tissue techniques. Kara travels back and forth between AHH Detroit and AHH Seattle to work as one of the more versatile members of our team.
Kara utilizes a goal-oriented approach to massage and works to achieve direct outcome in the physical body for each and every client, whether they are a Defensive Line Back or an equally hard-working career Mom. She works on each session with a mindful, nurturing touch and a relaxed yet professional presence. Her goal for each session is to build a personal connection with the client and effectively release tension from adhesions and connective tissues in the body, while improving circulation. She is also highly confident and skilled at the ancient Chinese technique of Cupping, which provides an intense level of release in the deeper layers of muscle tissue. You won’t see Kara practicing any kind of Energy Work or Reiki, but she will confidently deliver a great massage for anyone in need of a release.
When she’s not working hard with Advanced Holistic Health, Kara loves to watch sports games, spend time with friends and family, and go to concerts- especially to see live Country music! Kara loves learning new things and taking each and every opportunity she receives to seek a new challenge and experience personal and professional growth.
